Jason Watson

Professional Profile:

I am a competitive triathlete who has competed on Team USA and the U.S. Army Triathlon team, and I currently compete for the K-Swiss/K-Fast Team. I came into this sport with a background in running and cross-country training for The United States Army. I competed in my first triathlon in spring of 2007 and placed in my age group. Since then I have been pursuing a career in this sport. I’ve been in the Army for 12 years leading and training fellow soldiers. Currently working on my Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology I’ve been able to combine my own training, education and military experience in an effort to coach and mentor my fellow athletes. With a desire to one day open my own triathlon-training center.
Along with being an elite triathlete, I am a born adventurer I have a go anywhere do anything approach to life. And I am always looking for a new challenge. I’ve had the privilege to run in the Boston Marathon, join in on adventure racing, rock climbing and the adventure of backpacking around different countries. But I pride myself in my most recent work, by promoting “ONpoint.org” an organization that helps wounded warriors gain the equipment needed to succeed in the sport of triathlon and adventure racing.

2010 Race Goals:

In 2010, some of my key races are: Captex tri, the Boulder 70.3, Age Group Nationals and Avia Austin Tri and the Short Course Worlds. Majority of my schedule will be concentrated on meeting the requirements to get my pro license.
I will continue to be a U.S Soldier and defend my country when called upon. In my spare time I’m offering my coaching services to help improve the training and performance of the friends and athletes in my community. I am very excited to prepare for a new racing season because I am more experienced as a triathlete and feel more in tune with my body physiologically and better prepared mentally
